Weekend Photography

Wednesday each week will be when I upload a new post.

Over the weekend my sister decided she wanted a new Facebook profile picture which of course meant she needed me to do her makeup and take the photos (lucky she has such a talented sister like myself). Photography is kind of a hobby of mine so I didn't really mind to much even though it was a Sunday evening. I am not saying that I'm a very skilled makeup artiest or that I take the most amazing photos, it's just something I enjoy doing and I take pride in it. All the things I've learnt about makeup has been through YouTube tutorials, I watch a LOT of videos haha

Anyway in 2013, I think it was, I purchased an SLR camera. When I first purchased the camera I wanted it so I was able to take good quality photos at music concerts I was attending (mainly One Direction haha). There is just something about live music photography that intrigues me. You are able to catch so much emotion and can tell a story with just one shot. When you see an artist live and they are singing a song that they have an emotional connection with their faces tell a story and show what their soul is feeling, or when they are on stage doing what they love most and they look out onto the crowd and a smile consumes their face you can see who they really are and how happy it makes them, capturing that exact moment is thrilling to me, it makes me smile :) Maybe I should study Photography or something but I've never been keen on studying.

I'am not always able to attend music events so at this stage my focus as slightly shifted to talking photos of people (I don't know how else to put it) I guess its portrait photos? Basically I do my sisters makeup all nice and pretty, dress them up and take lovely photos. I'am fortunate enough that my house is out of town and surrounded by a big beautiful garden, so I'am spoilt for choice when it comes to photo locations. Majority of the time it's me wanting to play with makeup so my sister are my test subjects, but then there's times when my sisters want a new fb photo and that's what happened on the weekend.

I'am don't have the latest fandango photo editing programs, I don't even own a laptop, all I use to slightly edit and enhance my photos is an online editing website. So far it is doing the job just fine because I don't ever feel the need to majorly edit or alter my photos (well not yet anyway).

These are just a few of the photos I did take on the weekend, the makeup is just simple, nothing to out there. This is my sister in our garden.

My Tan

Just a little FYI, I'am a very pale person (not that there is anything wrong with that) I just prefer myself when I have a tan, it makes me feel more confident in myself and I don't know why but I feel thinner and isn't that something everyone wants to feel haha :)  

I know some people have a few reservations when it comes to using fake tan but for me I much rather using it then going out in the sun because it is very hard for me to naturally tan. I have been fake tanning for about 2 years now, I dont apply it ALL the time mainly for special events or if I'am going on a beach holiday. 

The fake tanner that I have now been using for around 6 months is the Loving Tan. I use the Deluxe Bronzing Mouse in Medium and I have got to say that I'am very much in LOVE with this tan. Unlike some other tanners this is not green based so when applying it will not make you look green. Applying this tan is such a breeze, and it dries pretty much right away which is great and means you are not left with feeling sticky all over and it wont transfer onto your clothes. 

There are a few different options that Loving Tan give you, so not only do they have the usual self tanning mouse but they also offer a 2 hour express tanning mouse, for those days when you need a quick fix. 

Loving Tan also sell Applicator Mitts. Yes I did try one but I was not that impressed. I know that others have tried it and truly enjoy using it. The mitt has a velour surface which feels great on the skin but I did find it really hard to blend, it almost felt like it wasn't applying the product into the skin but moving it along the surface. I would highly recommend trying one out for yourself because like I said others love using it. Recently they have came out with a really handy tool the Easy To Reach Back Applicator which makes it soooooo simple to apply tan on your back and those hard to reach areas. I didn't bother purchasing one because I have lovely sisters to help me out if I need :)

If you take care of your tan then it will last up to a week before the usual happens and you start to go blotchy and fade. When I say take care of it I mean make sure that you moisturizer, I do it morning and night.

So pretty much everyone should try out this amazing self tanner because if I love it then I know you all will too.

Introducing Me

Welcome all. I am Sophie, 22 and I'm not entirely sure why but I have decided to start up a blog. I might not be very successful with it but hopefully it will at be a place where you can come and find out a little bit more about the things I enjoy most in life. 

Whenever something new enters my mind or my closet :) I will try and post about it. Hopefully by doing this it will inform you about new fashion trends I'am enjoying or exciting new makeup products. Everything that I post about will be because I find it interesting and not because someone is telling me to. 

Along with makeup and clothes I really enjoy photography and Art. I thoroughly enjoy taking photos, whether it be of my sisters all dolled up or of the beautiful scenery that surrounds me. 

Please don't be afraid to tell me your opinions and make comments. I will try and listen to them and take them all into consideration.
